How Kenexx Works

Kenexx connects three parties around a deal: a retailer who offers it, a sharer who spreads it, and a shopper who buys it. One short code ties them together.

The code

Every share gets its own short code, like KNX-4F2KM. The code is the whole mechanism: it grants the shopper the discount in the retailer’s own store, and it tells Kenexx who shared the deal. It works as a tapped link, a scanned QR, or nine characters read over the phone and typed at a checkout.

The share

Sharing happens per deal. When you share a promotion, the people who buy through your code are connected to you for that promotion, and when they share it onward, their circle joins under them, up to three levels. Each deal builds its own circle of sharers, and rewards flow up that circle when purchases happen.

The purchase

Checkout happens in the retailer’s own store, online or at the register, with the retailer’s own payment processing. Kenexx never sits between the shopper and the store. The store simply reports the sale, and Kenexx credits the sharers from the retailer’s prepaid reward wallet.

What Kenexx is not

There is nothing to buy to participate, no inventory, and no recruiting. Rewards come only from real purchases of real products, three levels deep at most, funded in advance by the retailer. [TRYGVE: review this framing; it is deliberate positioning.]
